Carole Mills

This award is an award that was introduced last year in memory of the late Jim Smyth, it is an award designed to recognise the unsung heroes of Spa Golf club, of which there are so many, who put a lot of time and effort into the club to make it a better place for everyone to enjoy.

This years winner is a former juvenile Convenor turned floral virtuoso, often transforming the clubhouse with blooms that rival a botanical wonderland. When she's not coaxing blossoms to perfection, she's the unsung hero behind event flowers, turning any occasion into a floral fiesta. They are always working in the background. She provides beautiful flower arrangements which can be seen around the clubhouse, particularly on special days e. g. Lady Captain’s Day. I am sure you have noticed every week the beautiful floral displays in the foyer, these just appear as if by magic, they help to brighten the clubhouse and put a smile on your face.
So modest but so talented.

These are all done without remuneration. She has made and supplied tray-bakes, again on many occasions, willingly, and again, without remuneration.
And let's not forget her tray bakes – so irresistible, they've earned her the title of the lady Captain's baking wizard. It's like she's sprinkling magic (and a dash of humour) in every petal and pastry!
They are described by their fellow members as very dedicated and popular, always giving and such an award would recognise the selfless dedication of such a wonderful member.
